positivos; sin embargo, actualmente los cambios drásticos
de temperatura debidos al ENSO, son diferentes e incluso
más intensos que al de años atrás, y por ello se presume
que estos cambios climáticos pueden estar afectando la
dinámica de la vegetación. Por ello, el trabajo planteó
como objetivo evaluar la vegetación durante el fenómeno
“El Niño” e identicar si existen variaciones anormales
debido a la inuencia del fenómeno.
2. Materiales y métodos
Área de estudio
La Reserva Nacional de Lachay políticamente se ubica al
norte de la ciudad de Lima, en el km 105 de la Panamericana
Norte, entre las provincias de Huaura y Huaral (SERNANP,
2002). Tiene una extensión de 5 070 hectáreas y comprende
un rango altitudinal entre los 150 y los 786 msnm. En cuanto
a su ecología, se pueden encontrar cuatro de las zonas de
vida de Holdridge: (1) desierto desecado Subtropical (dd-
S), (2) matorral desértico Montano Bajo Subtropical (md-
MBS), (3) desierto pérarido Montano Bajo Subtropical
(dp- MBS) y (4) desierto superárido Subtropical (ds-S)
(SERNANP, 2002).
Actualmente en las lomas de Lachay se pueden
observar ocho formaciones vegetales: Loma tipo parque,
Loma de herbáceas, Loma arenosa de Nostoc, Loma de
Stenomesson, Loma de cactus, Loma de paredes rocosas
con musgos y líquenes y Loma pedregosa (SERNANP,
2002).
Materiales: GPS, cinta métrica, clinómetro, brújula,
hipsómetro, martillo, cinta aggin, raa, estacas de
madera, tijera de podar, prensa, fotográca, libreta, alcohol
medicinal 70°, soguillas, bolsas de papel y de plástico.
Trabajo de gabinete: Diseño de muestreo, debido a los
diferentes tipos de vegetación existentes en las lomas
se utilizó un diseño estraticado basado en rangos
altitudinales. La distribución de las parcelas se muestra en
el Anexo 1 y el Diseño de la parcela de muestreo, Para
la evaluación orística se realizó establecieron parcelas de
10m x10 m (100 m
2
), que incluyeron dos subparcelas de
4m
2
en sus vértices opuestos (A y C), tal como está descrito
en la Figura 1.

Tamaño de la muestra, el número de parcelas calculadas fue
de 16, sin embargo, tomando en cuenta la accesibilidad, las
distancias entre parcelas y el tiempo disponible, se decidió
evaluar 10 parcelas de 10m x10m (100m
2
) con un total de
20 subparcelas de 2m x 2m (4m
2
).
Trabajo de campo
Establecimiento de parcelas
a) Parcela principal de 10x10 (1): Para el levantamiento
de la parcela principal se empezó del vértice A, se colocó
una estaca marcada con cinta agging y se tomó nota
de sus coordenadas UTM y su altitud mediante un GPS,
colectando esta información en los siguientes vértices
principales (B, C y D). Del vértice A, se avanzó 10 m. con
un azimut de 270° hacia el vértice B y luego sucesivamente
en sentido anti-horario hasta cerrar toda la parcela.
b) Subparcelas de 2m x 2m (2): Fueron establecidas en los
vértices A y C de la parcela principal.
Evaluación orística
En cada subparcela se realizó la identicación botánica de
las especies presentes, pero aquellas especies que no se
lograron identicar in situ se hizo una colecta botánica en
estado de oración y/o fructicación para su identicación
respectiva en el Herbario MOL de la Facultad de Ciencias
Forestales.
En las subparcelas del vértice C, se retiró la “caigua
silvestre” Sicyos baderoa (especie rastrera) y se realizó
una evaluación detallada (conteo de individuos por especie
y medición de altura). En la subparcela del vértice A se
dejó a S. baderoa y se procedió a medir a las especies
presentes. El objetivo de aplicar un tratamiento diferente
en las parcelas fue para poder evaluar el efecto de la caigua
silvestre en el desarrollo de las demás especies herbáceas
que crecen por debajo de esta.
Información meteorológica: A través del SENAMHI se
obtuvieron los datos de temperatura (°C) y precipitación
(mm) desde el 2006 hasta el 2015. Todos estos datos han
sido registrados en la estación meteorológica de la RN y
han sido recopilados por los guardaparques (Anexo 2 y 3).
Evaluación siográca: Se midió la pendiente.
3. Resultado y discusión
Determinación taxonómica: A continuación, en el Tabla 1,
se presentan las especies identicadas en las parcelas de
evaluación después del inventario realizado.
La familia con mayor número de especies fue Solanaceae
(5), seguida por Asteraceae (4) y Amaranthaceae (3). Estos
resultados resultan similares a los obtenidos por Cano
et al. (1999), en donde se señala entre las familias más
representativas a Asteraceae y Solanaceae.
