Reducción de tasas de devolución en una empresa distribuidora con Lean Warehousing y RFID-WMS: Estudio de caso en el Perú

Resumen

El presente artículo estudia una empresa peruana distribuidora de suministros automotrices, la cual ha sufrido decrementos en sus utilidades de manera constante en los últimos cinco años de operación. Esta reducción se vio agravada en 2023 al retraerse un 34.33% con respecto al 2022. Dicho declive es adjudicado a la disminución en las ventas debido a un aumento en los reclamos y devoluciones por parte de los clientes. Por lo que, la empresa se ve obligada a tomar acciones inmediatas que optimicen la gestión de sus almacenes e incrementen su competitividad. En ese sentido, este estudio propone la aplicación de un modelo sedimentado en la metodología Lean Warehousing a través de la aplicación de herramientas como conteo cíclico, modelo mín-máx, Sistematic Layout Planning (SLP), clasificación ABC, trabajo estandarizado y RFID-WMS con IoT Shared Database para mejorar el indicador de devolución de pedidos. Finalmente, se emplea la prueba piloto para validar la eficacia del modelo con el objetivo de reducir a 6.50% la tasa de devolución de pedidos, con lo cual se mejora el rendimiento general del almacén y como consecuencia se elude esta drástica reducción en las utilidades.
