Abstract

The objective of the study was to characterize dendrologically the species belonging to the Campan- ulids clade in the district of Olleros, Amazonas, Peru, and to determine their conservation status. The species were collected, preserved and photographed for subsequent deposit in the KUELAP herbarium. Six tree species were recorded, of which three belong to the family Asteraceae, one to Escalloniaceae, one to Columelliaceae and one to Caprifoliaceae. Five of the species are categorized as Least Concern (LC) according to IUCN criteria. In addition, two new records were identified for the Amazon region: Gynoxys yananoensis and Smallanthus jelskii, both belonging to the family Asteraceae.
