Publication and peer review process

The research papers presented to the ANALES CIENTIFICOS journal are evaluated by the editors in coordination with the Editorial Board. This process has 3 steps.

Step 1. In the first 7 days after submitting the articles, the editor reviews the article format (article organization). Only the articles that comply with the format (item 7) go to the second stage.

Step 2: In this instance, the decisions about the suitability of the work to be accepted for peer review will be made by the co-editors. In general, this process lasts from 15 to 20 days.

Step 3. In this instance, the expert evaluators (peer reviews) on the subject qualify, make recommendations to improve the article and define the acceptance or rejection of the article. In addition, based on the opinions of the peer reviews, the Editor makes a decision to reject the article or to allow you to submit a new version for a new evaluation. Finally, the editor prepares a report and communicates the decision to the authors. Generally, this process takes 40-50 days.

Features of our policy are as follows:

  • All submitted research articles are subjected to immediate rapid screening by the editors, in consultation with the Editorial Board to ensure to be of the level of interest and importance appropriate for the journal.
  • Papers considered appropriate in principle for the journal are then sent to two evaluators (peer review) who comments that are asked around whether the data are adequate to support the conclusions. At least one referee must qualify as publishable work, to continue the process. In the case of discrepancy between evaluators, it will be put into consideration a third evaluator. Any conflict between the evaluators and the authors of work, the editor has the final decision.
  • When the evaluators recommend that the document should be reviewed, with information, analysis or experimental data additional before making a decision. It is important to ensure that all comments are sent back to us in a communication. Please, check carefully before answering. Corrections are the sole responsibility of the author. 
  • Changes or corrections after acceptance of the article, is only with acceptance of the editor.
